Make explosive atmospheres visible, auditable and safer.
Indiott gives UK sites a zone-aware monitoring and evidence layer for ATEX gas (Zone 0/1/2) and dust (Zone 20/21/22) areas. We centralise alarms, acknowledgements and maintenance actions into exportable audit logs that support compliance reviews and insurer queries—without disrupting operations.
Why this matters in the UK
Hazardous areas are classified by how often an explosive atmosphere is present. The zone dictates equipment, enclosure and installation method. Indiott helps you prove control with time-stamped alarms, user acknowledgements, device IDs and retention mapped to site policy—so you can demonstrate compliance confidently.
What Indiott delivers
Evidence-first dashboards: live status, exceptions and KPIs with one-click CSV/PDF exports for HSE/insurers.
Governed alarms & acknowledgements: routed to the right teams with read receipts, deadlines and automatic escalation.
OT/IT integration: bridge Modbus, BACnet or dry-contact I/O from certified field devices; unify signals securely.
Zone-aware asset register: tag assets by zone, area and enclosure; schedule inspections; log interventions.
Data retention & access controls: align exports and retention windows with your governance policy.
Important: Many general IoT sensors are not ATEX-certified. We deploy them outside Ex zones or within appropriate Ex enclosures and barrier schemes in line with IEC/EN 60079 and your site rules.
Reference architectures (proven patterns)
1) Zone 2 skid / pumping station
Ex-rated I/O and e-stops terminate locally; telemetry returns to a safe-area gateway. Indiott correlates alarms, notifies duty engineers, and records acknowledgements and fixes for audit.
2) Tank farm gas monitoring
Certified gas heads via intrinsically safe (IS) barriers to safe area; Indiott handles alerting, team escalation and incident reporting with photos/notes for insurer evidence. Vendor-agnostic integration.
3) Dust-hazard packaging or milling line (Zone 21/22)
ATEX e-stops, beacon/sounder stacks and dust monitors feed I/O; Indiott tracks trips, operator responses and restart checks, producing a traceable history for customers and regulators.
Featured ATEX products (integrated by Indiott)
These are common certified components we specify and integrate. Final selection depends on your zone, ambient (Tamb), enclosure and site standards.
Intrinsically Safe Barriers (IS)
Create energy-limited circuits between safe and hazardous areas for sensors/switches. Ideal for analogue inputs, contacts and HART.
Hazardous-Area Signalling (Audible & Visual)
ATEX/IECEx horns, sounders and beacons for Zone 1/2 and 21/22 to warn and guide operators during alarms.
When an Ethernet spur is required within a hazardous area (typically Zone 2), we select certified industrial switches and suitable Ex enclosures. We recommend:
ATOP EHG7305 — 5-port ATEX Zone 2 / UL C1D2 edge switch with SFP uplink to safe area.
Positioning: Indiott is the outcome engine (governance, alarms, evidence). Hardware is the enabler—we shortlist ATEX products (IS barriers, signalling, and the EHG7305/06/07 edge switches) during design, with cable plans and enclosure notes.
FAQs
Consult & design together
We run a quick discovery (drawings, walk-throughs, risk hotspots), then co-design zones, valve positions and alert rules that fit your buildings and teams.
Full installation support
Our engineers (or your FM contractor) handle mounting, cable routing where needed, valve fitting and commissioning. We label everything and produce “as-built” docs.
Which networking options do you recommend in Zone 2?
For Ethernet at the Ex edge we commonly specify ATOP EHG7305 / EHG7306 / EHG7307—ATEX Zone 2 / UL C1D2 switches with SFP uplinks—inside suitable Ex enclosures, with fibre back to safe areas. Final SKU depends on ports, SFP, Tamb and enclosure constraints.
Retrofit-friendly
Wireless LoRaWAN®, NB-IoT or 4G/5G backhaul—zero IT hassle for legacy sites.
Cyber-secure by design
